Child Safe Policy & Code of Conduct

Church workers at Newstart

Participating in church life is core to the ethos of Newstart Church, and we encourage everyone to serve within their giftedness.

Providing a safe place for all to be nurtured and grow is key however, and so it is required that 'church workers' (all those serving in the church) follow the above Policies & Codes of Conduct and also provide a current Working with Children Check. Depending on the area of service a Police Check may also be required.

The care, safety and welfare of children are embedded in policies and practices which are intended to reflect a commitment to zero tolerance of child abuse. This Child Safe Policy was approved by Archbishop in Council 22 March 2018.

Child Safe Code of Conduct

In support of the above Child Safe Policy the Archbishop in Council of the Diocese, as the authorised governing body, has prescribed and approved the following Code of Conduct for Child Safety. This Code of Conduct for Child Safety was approved by Archbishop in Council 22 March 2018.
