Church workers at Newstart
Participating in church life is core to the ethos of Newstart Church, and we encourage everyone to serve within their giftedness.
Providing a safe place for all to be nurtured and grow is key however, and so it is required that 'church workers' (all those serving in the church) follow the above Policies & Codes of Conduct and also provide a current Working with Children Check. Depending on the area of service a Police Check may also be required.

If you have a current Working With Children Check but have not listed 'Newstart Church' as an Organisation you Volunteer with, please Login to you account and update your details.

Need to Apply for a WWCC?
The process to Apply for a Working with Children Check is initially online, after which you will need to go to a Post Office to submit and have your Photo taken.

As a church community previously affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne we have adopted the following policies.
Child Safe Policy
The Anglican Church of Australia within the Diocese of Melbourne, including each faith community within the diocese, is committed to child safe practice. The care, safety and welfare of children are embedded in policies and practices which are intended to reflect a commitment to zero tolerance of child abuse. This Child Safe Policy was approved by Archbishop in Council 22 March 2018.
Child Safe Code of Conduct
In support of the above Child Safe Policy the Archbishop in Council of the Diocese, as the authorised governing body, has prescribed and approved the following Code of Conduct for Child Safety. This Code of Conduct for Child Safety was approved by Archbishop in Council 22 March 2018.
Police Checks
A Police Check certificate (also known as a criminal history check, police clearance or criminal record check) can be obtained online via AusPost or other recognised service. If you are required to provide a Police Check for your volunteer role at Newstart we will be reimburse you the costs for obtaining the police check on presentation of your receipt.
NB: You will be required to confirm your identity (minimum proof of ID requirements).
You will receive a digital copy of your Police Check Certificate once completed.
